Aero Contractors Airline is recruiting to fill the following vacant positions:

Job Title: Fireman

Location: Warri
Reports To: Base Services
Function: Operations

Purpose Statement:
To respond immediately and safely to emergency calls and requests for assistance to ensure efficient maintenance operation.

Key Accountabilities:

• Respond immediately and safely to emergency calls and requests for assistance;
• Attend emergency incidents including fires, road accidents floods, bomb incidents, spillages of dangerous substances and rail and air crashes.
• Rescue trapped people and animals.
• Minimize distress and suffering including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive; safeguard their’s and other people’s personal safety at all times.
• Respond quickly to unforeseen circumstances as they arise.
• Clean up and check the site after dealing with an incident.
• Take time to become familiar with local streets, roads and buildings around our fire stations and nearby fire stations in order to respond to emergency calls with utmost speed and efficiency.
• Inspect and maintain the appliance (fire engine) and its equipment, assisting in the testing of fire hydrants and check emergency water supplies.
• Undertake drills and physical training and take part in training on techniques, use of equipment and related matters.
• Maintain the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of a fire fighter.
• Maintain links with the local community; educate and inform the public to help promote fire safety.

Knowledge and Experience

• The position requires an OND degree with 5 years experience in aviation fire fighting skills.
• Must have an E Class driver’s license.
• Read and write in English

Skills

• Safety, Environment and Security oversight
• Good knowledge of local street network.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be physically fit.

Working Condition
Physically exerting, mostly outdoor,
External: State fire service, SPDC Fire Service, NPA Fire Services etc.
